The Success That Failed/Part 2

Pastor's Sermon Points 08-13-2017

Scripture Text: Genesis 13:12-13

Subject: "The Success That Failed/Part 2"

Introduction: On last week as I begin this series on "The Success That Failed" we found that in Genesis chapter twelve God tells Abram, who most of you know as Abraham, the father of faith; God tells him: "Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land I will show thee."

Now I didn't share this on last week but I think it's important for us to note that when God spoke to Abram it had been more than 300 years since Noah and the flood. 300 years since the last recorded instance of God speaking to mankind.

That's a long time to go without a word from the Lord. No doubt some of God's faithful may have begun to think that God had forgotten them; that God had withdrawn from active participation in the affairs of His creation. But in Genesis, chapter 12: God spoke a word to Abram.

That ought to be a word of hope for somebody. Sometimes God may seem silent; often times we may wonder if He has forgotten about us. There may be times that our situations and or circumstances cause us to think that God may have lost track of our predicament.

But I need to remind some believer in the house today - don't let God's silence in your situation make you think that He does not see where you are and what you are going through.
